Divide the distance by the time. So 3000/9min 1.59 sec.  But, we cannot divide by that! we need to change the minutes all to seconds.   Because there are 60 seconds in a minute, multiply 9 by 60 (540).  Add the other seconds (540+1.59=541.59). Now you can divide. You will get: 5.5392455547554423087575472220684. Round it to the nearest hundredth: 5.54meters per second
