Consider the quadratic function: f(x) = x2 – 8x – 9 Vertex: (-b/2a, f(-b/2a)) What is the vertex of the function?

X = -b/2a = 8/2 = 4

y = 16 -8*4 -9 = 16 - 32 -9 = -25

the vertex is (4,-25)
