There are several characteristics of soil. Three of these are color , texture and structure.
1. color - color of soil is determined by organic matter content, drainage conditions and degree of oxidation.
2. Texture- refers to the relative amounts of differently sized particles, or the fineness /coarseness of the mineral particles in the soil.
3. Structure - this is the arrangement of aggregates in the soil. Aggregates are categorized into four types namely- platy, blocky, prismatic and massive.
