Given points
(x₁,y₁) = (0,-2)
(x₂,y₂) = (-5,0)

Plug the points into the formula
m = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁)
m = (0 - (-2)) / (-5 - 0)
m = (0 + 2) / (-5)
m = 2/(-5)
m = -2/5
m = -0.4

The slope is -2/5 or -0.4
