variations observed in DNA are as a result of mutations. Mutations are changes that occur in the genetic material of living organisms (DNA). such changes are usually passed from one generation to another and may affect various functions of the body i.e when a certain gene mutates it produces a protein with abnormal function. There are four types of mutations which include deletion, insertion, substitution and duplication.
