Different theories in science rely on the current available knowledge that has been obtained through a certain way of data collection/that has used certain technology to obtain such data. With new technology, new datasets can be obtained that perhaps are not in line with previous theories. By improving technology, new datasets can be obtained and through this theories can be advanced, improved and developed.
