First, solve the given equation in y=mx+b form. It will be: y= 3/2x+5/2. you have found your slope now (3/2). take your slope and your coordinates and plug it into the equation and solve for b. 6= (3/2)(2)+b. 3=b. answer: y= 3/2x+3
