Adolescent egocentrism begins at puberty and may increase again at the start of college. During this time adolescents begin to become self-centered and have little disregard for other people's opinions, emotions, interests or beliefs. These adolescents look at themselves in a superior manner and think everything they do is special and highly regarded.
