So the top equation needs to be multiplied by 3 in order for it to

cancel out with the 3y.

So, 15x - 3y - 57 = 0

      2x + 3y + 6 = 0

To cancel y we must add so we are left with...

17x - 51 = 0

x = 3

Substitute x in either equation to get y as -4.
