When benzene react with chlorine in the presence of an iron catalyst CHLORO-BENZENE IS FORMED. Hydrogen chloride is also formed. Chloro-benzene is used in the production of other chemicals, insecticides, dyes, as solvent for drugs, adhesives, paints, etc.
