The statement that LSD is an example of a hallucinogen is true. LSD stands for Lysergic acid diethylamide. It is type of drug that alter the perception (awareness of surrounding objects and conditions), thoughts, and feelings and cause hallucinations. Because of this it can be characterized as a hallucinogen.
