For the Yanomamo, the most important source of nutrition
for them is cooking plantains or bananas. The main crops that they usually
cultivate are bananas and cassava which are planted in their gardens. When the men
are known to be hunters, fishers and horticulturists, the women are the ones
who cultivate their land or gardens. The diet of the Yanomamo are usually low
in edible salt.
