Suppose you are taking 2 cars. Each car gets 24 miles per gallon. How many gallons of gas will you need in total for both cars if you will be driving 54 miles?

54/24 = 2.25, which is more than 2, so it rounds up to 3. So, one car will need three gallons. Since there are two cars, six gallons will be needed.
