They marry each other. Onassis finished his association with Callas to wed Jacqueline Kennedy, dowager of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. They wedded on 20 October 1968 on Onassis' exclusive Greek island, Skorpios.
As indicated by biographer Peter Evans, Onassis offered Mrs. Kennedy US$3 million to supplant her Kennedy put stock in store, which she would lose in light of the fact that she was remarrying.
