Given equation is

[tex]3(x-4)=18[/tex]

Dividing both sides by 3, to eliminate 3 from the left side of the equation.

[tex]\frac{3(x-4)}{3}=\frac{18}{3}[/tex]

[tex]x-4=6[/tex]

Adding 4 both sides to eliminate -4 from the left side of the equation, we get

[tex]x-4+4=6+4[/tex][tex]x=10[/tex]

Hence the solution is x=10.
