A rectangle is a quadrilateral, which means that it has 4 sides.

A rectangle is related to the other known quadrilateral: the square.

The difference is that in a square, all of the sides are equal, and in a rectagle 2 sides are equal, and the other 2 sides are are equal but different to the other two.
