Periostium- the outer coating on the bone; the white, semi-shiny layer
Red Marrow- where the red blood cells are produced; located within the spongy bone
Cancellous(Spongy) Bone- basically the body of the bone; works as support
Articular Cartilage- located where the bone attaches to another bone; used as a type of lubricant
Diaphysis- the long, relatively skinny part; between the epiphysis
Epiphysis- the ends of the bone
Yellow Marrow- produces more red marrow and stores some fat
