Assuming the number of plants in the house is an unknown variable, take the value as x.

Thus, 4/3 litres is enough to water 2x plants in the house.

x = 4/3 ÷ 2

  = 2/3 litres

Amount of water for all the plants = 5x = 5 × 2/3

                                                                = 10/3 litres

Thus, 10/3 litres of water is necessary to water all the plants in the house.
