Find the area of the parallelogram by imagining that the blue triangle is moved onto the purple triangle.

Hard to tell without seeing a picture....but one of the triangles is representing half of the parallelogram and the other is the other half....the they are the same size. If you find the area of one triangle and double it, you will have the area of the parallelogram
