Why Byzantine was invaded frequently by many empires?

A lot of empires tried to invade Byzantine because of it’s power/immense territory/sources/…. Constantinopel for example had a lot of benefits in case of trading goods. Also the idea of conquering the east and last part of the Roman Empire contributed to the reason why many empires tried to invade Byzantine.
