It is false that as you watch an airplane fly above you, the angle of elevation to the airplane gets closer to 0° as the airplane approaches the point directly overhead.
As a matter of fact, it gets closer to 90°. When the plane is far away, then it is closer to 0. But since it is overhead, it is almost exactly 90°.
