Step 1: Convert 20% into a decimal.

All percentages are that number over 100. So, that's what we do - we place 20 over 100 and simplify.

20/100 ==> 2/10 ==> 1/5 ==> .20

Step 2: Multiply the whole number by the decimal:

300 • .20

60 (<==ANSWER!!)

60 is 20% of 300.
