What is an equation of the line that passes through the point (-8,0) and is perpendicular to the line x+2y=14

Step-by-step explanation:

let eqn be y = mx + b.

Since perpendicular, m = - 1/(-0.5) = 2

sub (-8, 0):

0 = 2(8) + b

b = - 16

therefore equation is y = 2x - 16
