this is a version of the 3,4,5 rule which says that if the sides of a right triangle are 3 and 4, the hypotenuse is 5. Since 6 and 8 could be simplified to 3 and 4 respectively, you could make the hypotenuse (x) 10, which has the same relationship to 5 (division by 2). Hope this helps!
