What are the two reason people came to the colonies?

TL;DR: riches, religion, and growth

Well, there are actually three reasons to why people came to the colonies.

The first one being that some wanted to find gold and other riches such as land. The second reason is that some religious folk wanted to escape from the religious persectution back in England. The last reason is that people just wanted a better life, free from warfare, starvation, and diseases. They thought that the life in the colonies could grant them a new begining.
