The equations are,
3x + y = 8 ——— 1
4x - 2y = 3 ——— 2

Multiply equation 1 by 2
Which gives,

6x + 2y = 16 ——— 3

Now , add equation 2 and equation 3
Which gives,
10x = 19

From there , x = 19/10
Therefore x = 1.9

Now substitute x = 1.9 in the equation 1

So the equation becomes ,
3*1.9 + y = 8

From that ,
y = 8 - 5.7

Therefore , y = 2.3

So , x = 1.9 and y = 2.3.
