A rational number can be written as a ratio and is nonrepeating. There is an infinite amount of numbers between 7.7 and 7.8, but an easy one is 7.75. You can double check that it's rational by writing it as a ratio, [tex] \frac{31}{4} [/tex], and you can see that it isn't repeating.
