We can only combine 5x²y and x²y because they have the same variables. Combining like terms,
                             Sum =     5x²y + (2xy² + x²y)
                             Sum =       (5x²y + x²y) + 2xy²
 Siimplifying,
                               Sum = 6x²y + 2xy²
Thus, the sum of the expressions given above is 6x²y + 2xy².
