To check whether a given reaction is balanced or not, we perform an elemental analysis for both sides of the equation. This is a decomposition type of reaction. Hence for aluminum, there are 4 atoms in the left side as well as in the right side. For oxygen, there are 6 atoms in the left side as well as the right side. Hence the reaction is balanced.
