so we know the formula to find the surface area of a sphere (ball) is:
4 x pi x r^2

to find the radius, divide the diameter by 2 to get:
14 / 2 = 7

now we substitute in the values:
4 x pi x 7^2

simplify:
4 x pi x 49

simplify:
12.56 x 49

simplify:
615.44 inches

the answer is above in bold
hope it helped :)
