Self-Evaluative narratives are a major means through which caregivers imbu the young child's self-concept with cultural values.

Through these narratives, caregivers can tell the child the social value that exist within the society with a language that the child could understand, such as telling the story of the boy who whisper wolf to teach them not to lie
