first break them apart. we have 2 rectangles. rectangle 1 is 34 ft times 8 ft which equals 272 ft. then rectangle 2 is 20 ft rimes 12 ft which equals 240. 240 plus 272 is 512. so the answer is 512 ft square. let me know if this helps! :)
