There dream was owning their own farm and land. They wanted to one day own a farm with lots of rabbits. Lennie would tend the rabbits and a patch of alfalfa to feed the rabbits. This is important to both of them because it represents the independence and freedom that they presently do not enjoy being migrant workers.
