Answer;

= 58.8 joules

Solution and explanation;

Potential energy is given by the formula;

P.E = mgh where;

m is the mass in Kilograms

g is the gravitational acceleration (m/s²)

h is the height/distance in meters .

-Well the ball is held from the ground of a distance 1.5 meters, so, h = 1.5 m.

The mass of the ball is 4.0 kg, so m = 4.0 kg

Hence;

P.E = (4.0 kg) × (9.8 m/s²) × (1.5 m)

    = 58.8 Joules
