To multiply values with exponents we can sue the following rule (assuming both numbers are in the same base):

[tex]a^{n} \times a^{m}=a^{(n+m)}[/tex]

In this case we have:

[tex]2^{10} \times 2^{30}=2^{(10+30)}=2^{40}[/tex]
