Hello. I think it would be because they are two completely different things. Think about it, the skins function is to protect our insides and everything in us. Our nerves functions are to tell us and let us know when something is wrong, hurts, or brings blood back/away to our hearts. Yes, they have different appearances and characteristics because their functions are different, but they carry the same DNA because your body has its own DNA code. I hope I helped you!! Have a great night.
