The answer is: Meiosis

Meiosis is the one which produces gametes.  (In this process, diploid cells are chopped and turned into four haploid cells (ova or sperm cells). In humans, the male gamete is termed as sperm, while the female gamete, an egg. Meiosis is critical in both sperm and egg production.
