The
events that led the sand creek massacre was a series of raids by native Indian warriors during the Colorado trails. The Dog Soldiers were resisting the American
rollback of the frontier. Many white settlers were slain, the Colorado government responded by sending two cavalries to retaliate and that is when the massacre occured .
