The effect wasn't very good because 5 people died and 6 were wounded in the Boston Massacre. There was a riot in front of the Boston Common House and there were troops guarding the area and one was scared so he fired on the colonists before him then a few more bullets fired. The colonists were very angry mostly because of Paul Revere's picture of the "fight." Sam Adams, the leader of the Sons of Liberty, made sure the news got around.
