True. Steamboats were not able to cross and trudge the biggest body of water on Earth because they are mostly powered by coals. Coals that deplete easily and need re-supplying are the number one hindrance of steamboat engines that is why they were only used for river cruising or travel because they may stop in between locations where they can re-supply.
